We started the Intonarumori trio in 2018 to explore Russolo’s idea that the machines could be used as a spiritual/ritualistic instrument. Initially complemented by percussion and bass guitar we stripped it down to just Intonarumori and voice. The events are usually long format improvised pieces that treat the venue as a fourth instrument. 

Russolo was of the belief that his machines could be used to open portals to other realms and communication with the dead. 

In the tradition of occult trinity magic the Intonarumori represent the spirit, the voice represents the organic and the venue represents the material with all the elements combining during the performance to create energy and manifest spiritual communication.
